Take one part piano and one part acid that were used in an old collaboration (dated July 24th, 2007) that had two more parts that weren't used (chimes and cut up sax lines), spend an hour happily adding more and more stuff to it (a bunch of drums, cellos, 2 more 303 lines, and loads of reverbs), start the arrangement, and then feel like nothing is working with either the arrangement or the mix for 2 hours, get frustrated, take a break, then return to it, and suddenly it's smooth sailing all the way to the end.
