I was living in Australia at the time, and I just got myself new monitors and a new MIDI keyboard, which was my first one with aftertouch support. I was very excited about that, and designed a patch that takes advantage of that feature in particular, which is used for the melody here, all played live. No automation in play, it's all simply the playing dynamics of the velocity, aftertouch, and modwheel.
