about

I wrote this for a "song skirmish", which is a challenge to write a song in 60 minutes, to a predetermined title.
Just now I'm realizing this is quite a queer-anthem.

Original Notes:
"Will record tomorrow. Because if I record it tonight, I won't be able to perform it anyway other than softly, and that's not what I have in mind here.
Edit: Yay, tomorrow's here. Enjoy the song. :D
Sorry to disappoint those who expected some electronic acoustic hybrid - turns out I was happy with the guitar + vocals + drums and didn't wanna add any synths."

lyrics

Em, Em, Am, Bm
Man eats man and dog eats dog
It's the nature of this world
Boy looks around, a cry is heard
Girl wants out of this sad herd

Dog eats dog and man eats man
It's the nature of their plan
From the pot to the frying pan
If you want to escape, yes you can

You're with them all by default
Doesn't matter who's at fault
What matters is you can elope
You don't have to give up hope

Em5, Cm5, Em5, Cm5, Gm5, Am5, Bbm5
It doesn't matter what they say
Don't ask them twice
Keep your thoughts away
From their paradise

Em, Em, Am, Bm
What's so special, you may pry
Fine, I don't need to be shy.
That boy who heard the cry?
He's the girl who wants to say goodbye.

Man eats man and dog eats dog
It's the nature of this world
Boy looks around, a cry is heard
Girl wants out of this sad herd
